About Prachi

Actor. Sportsperson. Entrepreneur. Dreamer. Achiever.

“Queen of Court” by The Times of India & “Lass of The Rings” by The Indian Express. These are some names given to a girl who worked very hard to make her fortune and family proud of her. I belong to a Jaat family. With immense security concerns of the family and the family initially being against me playing, it was difficult to build the confidence in them. In spite of everyone being so educated I had to struggle very hard to explain them how the sports field is and how much I am passionate to play for my state and country.

Sports Career

Having 11 years of sporting career in both Basketball and Netball, I have represented my school, college, state and country at various levels. I have been the youngest captain of Indian Netball team in Commonwealth Games 2010 holding a record of being the captain consecutively for 2 years in all major international championships. Also, India won its first international (Silver) medal in South Asian Beach Games, Sri Lanka under my captaincy Gold medal in 54th National Games held in Jharkhand. I feel proud that majority of people in India know about Netball because of me otherwise they always used to confuse it with other ball games. Being the brand ambassador of Netball Development Trust of United Kingdom and NAZ foundation of Delhi, I have also worked with underprivileged children and young girls respectively to uplift the sport in places like Jaipur, Kolkata and Delhi. I feel privileged to be a part of various school and college events sharing my success stories to inspire the youngsters to do something for themselves, family and the country. In short doing something different to be different.

Awards & Recognition

I was awarded as sports women of the year in 2010 by college and grabbed a place in the Delhi University Achievers List. Recently was awarded by AAS NPO for excellence in the field of sports. Not just this, I have also been recognized as a chief guest in World Vision Marathon for Child Mortality, Sports meet of Desh Bandhu College, IP Univeristy, Dev Samaj School, Deepalaya School, Schiller School, Pragati School, Leh Leh Sports Event, and at many more places.

I have been a subject of various articles published by leading newspapers and magazines like India Today, Womens Era, Hindustan Times, Times of India, Mail Today, Amar Ujala, Delhi Times, India Express etc. News and motivational channels like Living India, NDTV, CNEB, Pragya, Focus TV have covered me making various documentaries on my success story. I have also been titled as one of the prettiest sportswomen in India.

Academics to Corporate

Academically, have done my schooling from Montfort school in Delhi, graduation from Jesus and Mary College (Delhi University), Post-Graduation Diploma in Marketing Management from IMT Ghaziabad and MBA in Human Resources & Marketing from IP University, Delhi. Have corporate experience of almost 3 years now working as an intern, contractor and employee to various companies like Development Bank of Singapore, Deloitte, Philips, 1800 Sports and Accenture. Have worked on various projects in the field of HR, marketing, consulting, skill development, development of sports at grassroots in India and Modi’s make in India. I feel fortunate to be an enthusiast who did exceptionally well both in the field of sports and academics.

I reached to the top in the sports I played but in return no sport gave me a platform to achieve my long term goals or fulfill my dreams in terms of making a successful career. Facing this harsh reality, I came to corporate world to have some experience how the industry works so that I can use my sports experience and management knowledge/ skills to bring up significant change in the development of sports which are not very much recognized in India.
